“I can’t view PDF’s in Safari 3.0 or 3.0.4… anyone know how to fix it?”
I’ve experienced this problem myself, starting with Safari 3.0 (beta) and then with the new Safari 3.0.4 in OS X Leopard. I’ve read numerous posts in forums but couldn’t seem to find a fix for it … UNTIL TODAY!
After many searches on the web and finding no solutions that worked, I used the info I had found, did some trial & error and figured it out on my own.
I’m using the Safari 3.0.4 browser in Leopard and Adobe Acrobat 8.1.1 Professional. Here’s what I did to make it work:
1: DELETE the AdobePDFViewer.plugin. From all the forums I read, they said to remove it from this location Harddrive/Library/Internet Plug-Ins. This was the only place I had been deleting it from and I still couldn’t view the PDF’s in Safari. THEN I discovered it’s also in another place… Users/”user name”/Library/Internet Plug-Ins. When I had deleted it from BOTH places, and then followed the next steps, I was finally able to view PDF’s in Safari again.

I’ve recently joined the Operation Photo Rescue organization as a volunteer photo restorer. This volunteer organization was started after Hurricane Katrina.
I had read about OPR before, and then after the recent flooding in the Winona, MN area (Flood Gallery #1, Flood Gallery #2), I decided to volunteer my services. I’ve been in contact with OPR and they will be coming to Winona to assist people with getting their photos repaired that were damaged in the flood.
Here’s my first photo restoration that I did for OPR. I started with a pretty easy one, just to go through the entire process of downloading the original, uploading the restored photo and contacting the proper people at OPR. (Click the photos for an enlarged view.)

I’ve been “frustrated” for months trying to use CS2 on my Intel iMac at work… but NOT ANYMORE!
I ordered several copies of the Adobe CS3 Design Standard and one copy of InDesign CS3 for work on March 28th.
The InDesign CS3 copy arrived today (April 20th - 420 for you Mac “addicts”.)
If only I wasn’t so busy at work with other things, I’d actually install it!
At least I have a reason for WANTING to come to work on Monday! LOL!

I had an interesting project dropped on my desk this week. A local car dealership is moving to a “new” building. Actually it’s an older building that needs some remodeling. So what they wanted to do was advertise their Moving Sale, and include a picture of what their new location would look like…. THANK GOD FOR PHOTOSHOP! I think it turned out pretty well. What do you think?

Since nearly the beginning of Mac-dom, when you wanted to find out which key combination produced a font’s special characters (stuff like ©, ™, £, ¢, ‰, ƒ, etc.), you used a utility called KeyCaps. More than a decade later, KeyCaps is still a part of Mac OS, but a better way to access these special characters is through the Character Palette….

If there’s one thing that can bring a document (or your system) to its knees, it’s using a corrupt font (meaning a font that accepts bribes — sorry, that was lame). Anyway, finding out which fonts on your system might be corrupt was no easy task, but in Tiger, it just got a whole lot easier. Here’s how to search for rampant font corruption….

We’ve all had this happen at one time or another. You thought you captured the perfect photo with your digital camera, but once you get it on the computer and view it, you find out it’s way too dark. That “perfect photo” is lost forever… OR IS IT???
Try this quick and simple Photoshop tutorial and “rescue” that photo.
